The Distributed Applications and Systems Lab ( DASL ) is headquartered in the Department of Computer Science, and directed by Prof. Ray Ford. DASL focuses on the design and implementation of distributed information systems, the creation of application-specific visualization processes for the data contained in those systems, and the creation of special systems and algorithms to solve other application-specific problems. DASL is an interdisciplinery lab that attempts to strike a balance between basic computer science research, applied research, and application development. DASL projects typically are motivated by and draw support from collaboration with other University of Montana research labs, external research labs, public agencies, and/or private companies. |
