conic.mov [610 KB] /
conic.mpg [130 KB] - This animation depicts a cone rotating through
time being sliced by a plane. If you watch carefully at the edge of the plane, you can
see the conic sections, a hyperbola, a parabola, an ellipse, and a circle.
hotwheel.mov [750 KB] /
hotwheel.mpg [1400 KB] - This animation was created to demonstrate
a Data Explorer Module that was written. The module creates a spline interpolated path from a
discrete set of data points. This can be extremely useful when trying to make a camera fly along
a smooth path from one position to another.
intgeo.mov [8.5 MB w audio] /
intgeo.mpg [2.2 MB] - This animation was an attempt to show
underground fluid movement. The scenario was that an oil well pumping saline happens to have a
pipe burst in a ground layer above a sand layer where the town's water supply was being drawn.
The saline travels through the ground in its layer until it reaches the sand layer where it begins
to seep into the town's water supply.
trek.mov [533 KB] /
trek.mpg [171 KB] - This animation was a students final project. He
was to import a DXF (Autocad) file (the Enterprise), make the camera move across a landscape, and
have the ship fly. It seems he did a very fine job. Which planet is this? Only Kirk knows.
