How MATT Works MATT, or more appropriately MATT 3.0, runs on top of the MATLAB engine API to communicate with the Simulink engine. Using C++, the MATT 1.0 code was rehashed, replacing MatrixX terminology and functionality with Simulink terminology and functionality (see "MATT History"). The below diagram shows how the current MATT program communicates with Simulink:
